Note
"Only attested in quotations by Festus and Paulus, and its form vacillates... The solution put forward by Rosén 1994, viz. that s(a)cēna must be compared with Heb. śakkīn, Aram. sakkīn 'slaughtering-knife', is attractive. In Rosén's view, both words are probably borrowed from an unknown third source" (MDV). De Vaan states that this word was borrowed into Celtic (OIr. scían 'knife'), though Matasovic does not share this view.
