Also: Ital. lava 'lava', Fr. lave 'flagstone' (Bourguignon dialectal form equivalent to lauze), Pr. lavo, lauvo 'flat stone' may be from Gaul. *lawā < *lh₁w- (RM), Note also Gallo-Lat. lausiae 'pebbles in a stone-quarry' (RM)
